Taking advantage of Happy Hour

 Happy Hour

Welcome back to the best variety blog on the Internet.  Todays nugget includes how Tronster and Sunshine (my smoking hot wife) enjoy a meal of appetizers to save a couple of bucks.  You see, most restraints have  bars in them now,  I am guessing because most of the population likes to drink.  I do not, but to each their own,

I’ve mentioned before, many of our friends are not close, Sunshine and I both work several miles from home, and therefore get home right around dinner time,  Occasionally we have a reason to stay in our area of “work” operations.  This evening was one of those occasions.  We decided we would take advantage of the eateries in the area and meet up with a couple of friends,

The Location:

Always ready to take our money, the Springfield Toens center is welcoming and full of different places to enjoy a quick meal.  It was a gorgeous evening, and we were not in a rush.

Our decision was the 54 Restaurant .  The town center was very busy.  The full fall colors of the trees are a easy on the eyes as we approach.

The Meal:

The Chicken Wings, as seen above, are delicious.  Crispy with Korean BBQ style.  There are not to spicy, and I was able to share them with my wife and only make a little mess.  In background, you can see the pay favorite part.

The Bulgogi waffle fries.  When I say, “OMG these things are the bomb”  I mean it.  Holy moly, they were off the chain.  The fries were crispy, the bulgogi had flavor, and the mix was just right.  Just like any other cheese, meat and jalapeño covered meal, you must eat it while it is hot.  Otherwise the friend will get soft.

The Conclusion:

Happy hour apps are normally 1/2 price.  You can stop at any restraint/bar and get a taste of their menus to see you want try out the full menu sometime.  Sunshine and i went very early for the dinner crowd.  All the food was freshly prepared and did not take very long.  The staff was very friendly and attended to our needs.

Thank you again for checking out my little slice of the internet.

The Next Year: 2022

 This year will be different.

What to expect:

This year you should expect more from Tronster.  I will try to post more of what's going on in my life and provide some great insights on activities.

For starters, there should be more posts.  Here is the calendar book I am using this year.  I like the "See it bigger" books, because of the amount of space provided for each week.

Not to mention, they have some designs that are not limited to women. (no offense to women, but when i use it at work, flowers are not the best)

Food Posts:

I tend to have to fend for myself.  This is one of the meals I made recently.  Grilled chicken wings, and mixed vegetables.  (Sunshine, made the vegetables).  My wife (also known as sunshine here on Tronster.net) cooked the mixed vegetable, I just used the magic microwave to warm them up.

This year, your should see more posts about my diet.  I hope to keep it interesting, but who knows.

I want to thank all of you for reading, and hope I can provide some entertainment this year.

Final Thoughts:

COVID restrictions have put a damper on many aspects of life.  You would think I would have been posting day in and day out, but no not Tronster.  So, I will attempt to get this going again.  You may be able to tell, or you may not, that I tend to be on and off on this blog.  One of the reasons I have not converted to a more pay blog.

Keep reading, and let us journey this year together through blogging.

Got to eat

Continuing on our road trip, stopping in various places to see what we can see, the Georgia welcome center is only about 30 min from historic Savanah. We did not have enough time to tour the city, however our goal was to find some good food. Well, there was one place my Sunshine had heard of and wanted to try.

Paula Deans restaurant was open for businesses. The southern flair of her food was a good choice.

It is a “Family style” all you can eat  you choose between two or three main dishes and a number of side orders  the price depends on what he meal you pick  (number of main dishes)  we went the fried pork chops and meat loaf.  Currently there is no buffet  another key is you can not take left overs  so order and eat what you get  a small desert is included and you are able to take that on the road with ya.

Nobody likes to travel on an empty stomach  a full one is only slightly more enjoyable  you may find after a big meal you are ready for a nap

We killed about an hour and a half in Savanah and it was time to get back on the road.  My parents still an hour or so behind, we ventured toward I95 to get back on track

Copping with COVID

We all have had challenges facing us during this pandemic.  This is not a woe is me post. This is a post talking about how I am working at home in support of this great nation.  One of the advantages of having to stay away from the office is access to my kitchen.

My smoking hot wife was home too. That means I get to enjoy great company and great food. Normally I would be in the office having a poorly made breakfast sandwich from the jiffy mart store in my building.

So as a positive from the current circumstances, I get more time with my wife and I get a good breakfast

Thank you for stopping and reading my corner of the Internet.

Halloween Hootenanny

This years Halloween Party for Sunshine's Club of friends was hosted at the all new and improved Casa de Tronster.  A couple of weeks before the little gathering, we decorated the house and prepared many of the dishes.  Utilizing the Intranet, and multiple goole machines around the house, we were able to come up with some great ideas.

Here you will see the little "tagalongs" peeled with a strategically places piece of celery.  Now this is a simple and effective little treat with the food.  They look like little pumpkins.  If you look at the plate all of these precious little items were placed, you will see we either ran out of tagalongs or celery.  (Honestly I do not know which).  They were a big hit with the kids and adults alike.  I must have had two myself.  Many celery stick was found on or around the table, so I am guessing the kids had some.

The deviled egg plate.  Here is another one of my favorite finger foods at any party.  Tronster enjoys them so much, he normally eat two.  To make them into spider deviled eggs,  just add a couple of sliced olives.  Again, I do not know why there is always one spot open.  Tronster did not "test" any of the eggs before they were prepared for the party.  I was not at the house when these little bundles joy were created.

This was another big hit with the guests.  There were none left at the end of the night.  Sunshine and all of her friends worked really hard to produce quality products for this little shindig.

There were lots of friends and family present.  Please take a look at a few of the decorations and food that was brought and shared.

The Front entrance included the lighted sign and singing skull.  Every time some one entered the room the skull would sing "Super Freaky".

Look at some additional decorations below.  Doors were covered, and so were the chairs.

Pinoy food Saturday: Puto

Wife of Tronster, Sunshine, is a great companion throughout life's adventures. Her and her family have introduced him to so many different foods.  I have to admit this is one of my favorites. It is a simple steamed bun, not too sweet and a good little snack. Sunshine has taken the time to train Lhet  (pronounced let) on how to create these little pieces of joy. The cheese on top is something I didn't think I would like,  however, it makes the Puto very tasty.

So if you have any Pinoy friends or family,  ask them to make you a batch.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Fast Food Favorites

We all have are favorite fast food establishments. Ask any one under 10 and it is most likely McDonalds. I am a Wendy's fan. With that said I must say, because the closest Hardee's to my house is 40 miles, I do try to stop there when the opportunity is presented. This past weekend was no exception. The Diablo Burger was great.  I surprise was the jalapeño poppers on the burger. Genius I say.

Enjoy your week!!

Pizza, Burgers or Fried Chicken

On my way home the other day, the radio station was asking questions of their listeners/guests.  I found it very very interesting for the topic.

If there was one of the following foods that could be made good for you, which would you pick?

1. Pizza
2. Burgers
3. Fried Chicken

Pizza

Oh how I love a good pizza.  I can deal with the Pizza from the delivery companies, and I have my favorites from them. (I am talking about Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Papa John's)  But I prefer the pizza from the Italian places, or from a few local joints.  One of my favorites is the all cheese pizza with hot sauce.  One of our local establishments makes a four cheese pizza, they bake it with olive oil, and it is square.  Why?  Because they don't cut corners.  The sauce is a little sweet, which turns some people off, but they will put bacon on any pizza.  And we all know that everything is better with bacon.

Burgers

For me its more about cheese burgers.  I must say again, that the burgers you should consider for this question do not come from a drive through.  Gourmet burgers seem to be all the rage here in the DC area.  More and More burger joints are popping up all over the place.  $12 burgers from any place seems a little pricey.  However, if you like good burgers, you can get them at just about any sit down place and they are generally pretty good.  I can give an example.  I told all of you about the road trip to Tennessee last weekend.  We had dinner with a bunch of friends at Calhoun's.  I was not in the mood for ribs, I know hard to believe, so I ordered a burger.  The Kick'n bacon cheese burger.  Stacked with
jalapeños , bacon and pepper jack cheese.  Just looking at the monument to inefficiency,  I could hear my arteries hardening.

Fired Chicken

What can I say?  I think the Zack Brown Band says it best.  "I like my Chicken Fried"  Boy do I like my chicken fried.  My southern family has mastered the fried chicken. I eat this stuff all the time for lunch from the different fast food places.  I must confess, I do not order fried chicken from many other restaurants than the ones the have drive throughs.  I put hot sauce on this stuff too.

Advantages for Pizza and Friend Chicken, is that stuff is good cold also, breakfast the next morning if you know what I mean.

An un official poll of my co-workers, Friend Chicken to top spot.

Alas, we come to the point where we must make a decision.  If I could only make one magically good for my health, which one would it be?

I would have to vote for the ..............Burgers.  Yes ladies and gentlemen.  The Burgers would have to be my vote.

What say you?  Which of the three primary Bachelor Foods would you pick as a healthy food?
