Sharing Blessings
Thanksgiving is a time we can reflect on our many blessings. My wife and I are very blessed. We have maintained our jobs during the pandemic, and we have remained healthy. Our families are doing well and we are happy. We have had many blessings this past year and feel that one small thing we can do, is share in those blessings.
This new method forced us to modify how we do things. However, only slightly. Sunshine and I have been involved with the organization that provides these thanksgiving "baskets" for several years. However, this we the first year we were able to join in this function in person.
Our team first purchased all the materials for the boxes. This was done before Sunshine and I arrived. The boxes are actually provided by one of our members.
We form try to keep the boxes consistent. However, sometimes we have to improvise. A good example would be the "cookie tins" Each box gets a tin of cookies. However, this year our supply store did not have enough of the 2 dozen tins. Therefore some got 2 tins of 12.
This was performed on a Wednesday, to be delivered to social services on Friday. Sunshine and I went out on a "school" night and stayed up a little late to ensure we assisted.
During this time of Thanksgiving, it is hard on families. Especially so during this past year of COVID pandemic. Without the pandemic, this time of year is very difficult for many people. However, if we have the opportunity to share our blessings, be there for friends and family, or offer an encouraging word. I believe the return on the time spend will be great.
Thanks for stopping and checking on my adventures.
